Glacier National Park Artist-in-Residence
Lake McDonald, June 2025
For the entire month of June, 2025, I was privileged to live in a log cabin overlooking Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park as the Artist-in-Residence. Up until that point, I had never been to Glacier but had been captivated by it’s beauty for year. After applying again and again I finally secured a spot, which felt all the more sweet after trying for so long. I was suprised at how clean the park was, which is saying a lot because there are over 3 million annual visitors. I struggled to find much trash (which is the point!) so I got creative and visited the “Goodwill Garage” of staff housing to find my favorite shovel canvas that became “Glacially Dug.” My residency included a handful of public programs, so I was able to visit every district of the park.
